We are rapidly approaching Easter. I’m so excited. You all already know how much this holiday means to me. It’s more than a holiday. It’s a relationship, a celebration of Jesus. We know that He is the reason for the season and are more than grateful that He loved us so much that He died and rose again for us. It’s a joy my family shares.
Still, I am also aware that children like an opportunity to share in some of the holiday activities they see their peers participating in. My children are no different. I decided, when Bug was still very young and it was just the two of us that I would create Easter Baskets that speak to faith and allow him the childhood memories of Easter baskets just like my family did with me. They were a great hit. I now do the the same with my Honeybee and am looking forward to being able to include baby A. in her first Easter.
I’d love to share a few basket filling ideas with you. These ideas are primarily for newborn-non mobile babies. Feel free to leave your own suggestions as well.

Christian Board Book. How adorable is Baby’s Baby’s Hug-a-Bible. It’s a soft book that you can actually cuddle with. There are ten familiar Bible stories set up as rhymes. As research and personal experience teach that reading is an excellent bonding and teaching tool, you’re getting the best of both worlds in this book.
Clothing. Oh my goodness! I’ve only recently stumbled upon Brisco Baby, an online baby apparel store that sells, among other things, Christian onesies! There are about 15 options in multiple colors, all under $20. I’m a huge fan of the “He Answered” one as our daughter’s name means “God has answered our prayer”. This is an adorable addition to your basket.
I also came across Faith Baby and am SO in love with this site. In addition to baby onesies, they sale tops, bloomers, bonnets, accessories, AND stuff for Mommy too (that Be Still And Know is a favorite)! As for the onesies, I’m currently in love with the Jeremiah 29:11 (my FAVORITE verse) onesie and the “My Hero Carries a Bible, I Call Him Daddy” onesie. I promise…so many feels with this store.
Plush Animals. Did you know there’s an online toy site that features Christian stuffed animals? JCPets.com has toy angels” in the form of a Lion or Lamb. Each has a bible verse and adorable angel wings. What I love most about this place is they work with children’s ministries around the nation and donate a portion of their sales go directly to Children’s Villages USA to help children there also. They also donate their lambs to those children in heartbreaking situations. I love that and their messages.
Receiving Blankets. Let me tell you something. I love all of the receiving blankets we received in prep for baby A. I use them for everything—swaddle, birth cloth, play mat, chair cover, carseat blanket, shade. You name it. It’s there. I thought it would be amazing to have a new blanket in baby A.’s basket. There are a bunch online if you google “Christian baby blankets”. These are a few of my favorites:
- “God Has You” Magnolia Blanket
- “For This Child I have Prayed” Etsy Blanket
- Christian Receiving Blankets from Cafepress
- Pacifiers
- Teethers
- Bottles
- Sippy Cups
