Friday Favorites: Still Falling ‘for Fall

Hello everyone! Happy Friday to you! This week has been an interesting mix of Fall and pre-Winter temps, and I couldn’t be happier. I’ve had hot chocolate quite a few times and even enjoyed chili! Yay!!! It might sound cheesy, but I really do live for this season. As such I had to share with you some of my favorite Fall finds this week! It’s like the community has finally caught on that this great season is here. Last week, I decided to do a link up with other bloggers for Friday Favorites. I had a ball and met some really cool people so I decided to so again. Today, I’m linking with A Little Bit of Everything, Grace and Love, and Momfessionals for their Friday Favorites! Hope you enjoy!

1. Little Black Dresses

In another week, S. and I will return to my old college stomping grounds for my college Homecoming. I can’t wait. I haven’t been in a couple of years. Since there are so many of my family members who also attended the university, it will be like a mini family reunion. Friends, food, fellowship, and memories. I’m so excited. I realized I didn’t have a black dress for one of the alumni parties that S. and I are attending. Seriously, everything I have is long concert dress attire or maternity (here’s hoping I get to use that again) and not at all appropriate. I visited Amazon and found these really cute dresses that I think will turn heads while remaining classy. They are both in my closet and I can’t wait to take pics in these and share them Homecoming weekend! (BOTH were under $30!)

2.  Fall Shirts/Sweaters

Just when I thought I was completely done, I received an email from one of my favorite online shops Rotita.com and found two other beautiful shirts that just may have to make their way into my closet. A few people have mentioned having issues with the store, but I’ve purchased from them several times and have never had a problem. I think this cold shoulder sweater tunic would look amazing with the right pants and boot. The black one is the perfect semi-formal dinner choice and, with a casual business retreat/mixer coming up in a few weeks, I think it would be a welcome addition.

3.  A New Fall Recipe

So, I’m sitting in my office minding my own business, about to call it for the day, when a teaser link runs across my news feed inviting me to see “The Viral Cupcake That’s Blowing Up Instagram“.  With a teaser like that, you know I had to see it for myself.  Guys!  I am so intrigued.  No, I haven’t made this yet, but it’s supposed to be a cold, dreary, and wet Saturday tomorrow.  That will be the perfect weather for making these and since S. will be hanging with the older kids for most of the day, I’ll have limited interruptions upstairs.

4. My Weekly Reminder

This week this song was placed in heavy rotation in my home and office.  I was learning it to sing in ministry with one of the choir groups.  I could barely listen to the song without being filled with joy and awe of just how absolutely amazing God is.  I am so glad He knows my name.  The song is sang by Tasha Cobbs Leonard. In times of political discord, of craziness in the world, and in a season of change, I highly encourage you listen to it and let it minister to you as well.
I do not own the rights to this song.
And there it is everyone–My Friday Favorites.  I hope you have a fantastic Friday and a blessed weekend.  Hope to talk to you soon!

  1. That cold shoulder sweater is adorable! I am going to have to show my middle son (who loves to bake) those cupcakes. They look amazing!

  2. Thanks Mother of 3! I agree. I'm in love with the sweater. There's a tan colored one two that might have to join me. I'm going to try the cupcakes tomorrow I hope, so I hope to post a follow-up
