PREGNANCY WEEK 12- January 23, 2019 (16-23 Jan 2019)
Today was supposed to be our first obstetrician appointment for this little one. Unfortunately, I was almost there when I realized I left my wallet at home with my insurance cards and identification. I called the office and we realized that I would not have time to do all I needed to do, so we had to rescheduled for tomorrow. Sadness. But that’s okay. I’ll be 12 weeks tomorrow and I’m interested in seeing how things have progressed.
How far along: 11 weeks
How big is baby: the size of a fig (Incidentally, I am not a fan of figs).
Gender: Unknown
Events of this week: Monday, the schools and offices were all closed in observance of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. day. We took advantage of the time to watch his bio for the older kids and spend some time together as a family. Other than that, it has been kind of quiet, but quiet is good.
Symptoms: The nausea remains. At 11 weeks and 2 days, I was barely functioning with how badly I felt. Hopefully, things will get much better.
Exercise/Activity: Very little beyond walking throughout my office and climbing stairs. I know. I need to do better and hopefully it will help me feel better if an when I do.
Sleep: I’m always so sleepy, but alas I’m not getting much rest. Baby A. is going through a growth spurt so she has been waking at odd hours to ask for something to eat. Then, I’ve been getting up at 12 and 3 am to go to the bathroom. so, yeah. Not quite as much sleep as I would like.
Maternity clothes: Not yet, but I did have to let the zipper down on one of the pair of pants. I was just not having the room I needed.
Stretch marks: The old ones from my previous pregnancies.
Belly Button: In.
Food cravings: Yes. The Subway craving remains. I want a turkey and provolone cheese sub on toasted Honey Oat bread with vinegar, salt and pepper, oil, lettuce, and honey mustard. But I won’t get it because I’m being cautious of deli meat….UGH.
Food aversions: Chicken and tuna fish…Eww
Movement: So, I am almost certain these are flutters. I don’t care what anyone says. I recognize these.
Best Moment of the Week: Watching movies on the television with the family on MLK Day
Worst Moment of the Week: Having to pull the car over after choir rehearsal to throw up. Morning sickness my butt.
What I’m looking forward to: Spending some solo time with the kids this weekend. S. is working until later, so I am thinking a trip to the bounce house for the kids.
What I’m nervous about/praying for: Praying for a healthy baby and for the comfort of a friend who lost her child in utero
What I miss: Nothing really.
Any milestone: Round ligament pain is real.
Next appointment: 24 Jan
