Week 22:  3-10 April 2019

Hello everyone.  This past week has been something!  Finally, everyone seems to be well enough to enjoy the weather and life in general.  I’ve been enjoying the nice weather and have started looking at baby items that I might want to include in my next labor and delivery bag.  I’ve also enjoyed having a sneak peek at baby today during out fetal heart scan.  Everything went well.  Good heart rate.  Placenta rose to a satisfactory level.  The doctor is pleased and so am I.

How far along: 22 weeks
How big is baby: the size of a coconut

Weight gained:  11 pounds
Gender: Unknown (Team Green)
Events of this week:  I had my fetal heart scan today.  I completely enjoyed the process.  It was hilarious because the baby would not sit still.  It usually is kind of chill around lunch time.  Today, baby kept flipping and kicking and hiding its face.  I absolutely loved it and the sonographer was amused as well.

Symptoms: INSOMNIA:  I can’t sleep.  I’m so uncomfortable at night that sleeping usually results in my tossing and turning.  Last night, I moved around quite a bit.  I did manage to figure out a cool pillow stuffing trick that allowed my belly to be cushioned.  That seemed to help.

TIRED:  I feel like I have picked up some of the fatigue issues associated with anemia.  As such I need to have my blood tested.  The fatigue is real.

INCONTINENCE:  Man!  It’s allergy season.  Recently, every sneeze is an invitation to pee my daggone pants!  I have been doing Kegels since before my pregnancy and I am still no closer to strengthened uterine muscles.  Sigh.  Save me.
Maternity clothes: I’ve worn maternity clothes of some sort every day now.  They are pretty much a staple now.
Stretch marks: Yep!
Belly Button: In.
Food cravings: I craved a roasted veggie quesadilla from Wawa.  Got that one!
Food aversions: Not really
Movement: Yep.  Tons.  I was surprised to find baby is breech this week.  This one has been head down since the beginning, so that’s funny.  That explains the weird movements in the lower part of my womb though.

Best Moment of the Week: Hearing the heartbeat.  That’s always a beautiful sound.

Not so great moment:  Peeing my pants three times in a row.
