Hi everyone! Happy Friday!!! It’s the first Friday in June and a host of stuff is going on. We’re rapidly counting down to my due date, which is currently 62 days away and I am READY. Seriously, I don’t think I’ve ever been more ready for a pregnancy to end lol. Still, it’s been a pretty good week and I’m looking forward to sharing some of that with you. This week I decided to link up with the beautiful ladies from A Little Bit of Everything, Grace and Love, and Momfessionals for Friday Favorites. Here’s my ‘Top 5 for the Week’.
Swim Lessons. I started swim lessons Monday! Yes, I know. It’s a bit odd that at 38 (almost 39) and currently 31 weeks (as of yesterday) pregnant, I would take swim lessons, but I am. I’ve never been truly comfortable with water and prefer to wade waist deep. Bug loves the water and is a little fish while swimming in it. I noticed Honeybee is not a fan of the water an all, and I didn’t want her to miss out on swimming and enjoying the relaxation that water could bring. So, when S. bought up swimming lessons, I said yes. Guys, I was nervous as all get out, but I actually did very well. The instructor is fantastic, has me at ease immediately, and got me very comfortable in the water. It usually takes me 20-30 minutes just to get under the water and then I am pretty much done. She had me blowing bubbles, under the water, floating, back floating, kicking. It was great. I look forward to learning more.
The kids have been taking lessons since last Saturday and they both did very well. Honeybee was smiling and jumping in the water like a pro. I promise you that’s a HUGE accomplishment.
New clothes. I keep telling you all I’m a Sparkle in Pink fan. I finally had the girls in their lemon dresses and got massive compliments. I then found a few new items on their site for Honeybee’s first week of school in August. I promise I couldn’t resist.
Cupcakes. Yesterday I had my 31 week check up. It was a pretty good check up, all things considered. I am still anemic and now have to take a prescription iron supplement in place of the OTC the doctor originally asked me to take. But I don’t mind. Whatever I need to do for the baby is what I want to do.
After I left my appointment yesterday, I took advantage of some down time and went to m y favorite cupcakery. I hadn’t been in quite some time, but there were new flavors out there and I definitely wanted to try them. I indulged in the week’s flavors of sweet tea with lemon buttercream frosting (which was very good, but I couldn’t taste the sweet tea and I’m a Southern girl), pina colada (which was AMAZING), cherry limeade, and velvety red. Both of those are awaiting my sample. It was the perfect way to end the appointment day and I have no complaints at all.
