2019 Christmas Weekend Recap

Weekend Recap: Christmas Approaches

What a great weekend with the family! I started the Friday early by stopping by Krispy Kreme and ordering a dozen of the holiday donuts for A. and J.’s daycare as a thank you for the love and care that has been shown to the babies. I thought the donuts were the absolute cutest things and may purchase some tomorrow for our Christmas brunch on Wednesday.

Aren’t these adorable?!

The weekend kicked off early for me when I joined my work colleagues for a pre-Christmas luncheon at Cheesecake Factory. Understand, I LOVE the Cheesecake Factory and would probably go weekly if I wanted to make the space in my budget. As it stands, it had been a while since I had the opportunity to go, so this was a great treat.

My colleague loves a good tea selection.

I was fine with the raspberry lemonade (though it was a bit tart).

I dined on my favorite crab bites and stuffed mushrooms and finished with my favorite cheesecake—the red velvet. I also had the opportunity to try their seasonal pineapple upside down cheesecake, which was so good! Finally, our manager gifted all the team members with a small cheesecake to take home. What a kind gesture and a sweet thing for him to do.

The crab bites are one of my favorite small plate dishes.

The BEST cheesecake EVER!

Friday night, the kids were playing in the family room when I saw the familiar lights of a fire engine. I quickly ushered the children into coats and hats and we opened the door just in time for the kids to see Santa ride by! They were so excited. They were equally excited when he came back around the second time. I love our neighborhood.

Saturday, the family took it easy and lounged while I watched North Carolina A&T State University (my alma mater #AGGIEPRIDE) play in the Celebration Bowl against Alcorn State. It was a great game and the school won for the third time in a row, fourth time overall. This is a history making moment. It was so great being able to see that with the family.

Congratulations, Aggies!  So proud of you all!
The score was beautiful!

After the game was over and the skies turned to night, S. and I told the kids to get dressed in their PJs. We went downstairs with popcorn (and cheesecake for me) and had our Annual Christmas Movie Night. What a great time. Upon the recommendation of my colleagues, we watched Klaus. It’s on Netflix and has a very high rating. It was such a really nice family movie. We all enjoyed it and had some laughs with it too. We followed it up with the Madagascar Holiday movie and enjoyed an amazing and wonderful family night.

Ready for our Christmas movie night…

Klaus is such a great picture!

Sunday morning was our church’s Christmas Sweaters and Jeans Sunday. I wasn’t able to join in that because our choir members wore different attire, but it was such a festive and Spirit-filled day. First, Christmas Sunday breakfast was so yummy. The hall was decorated so nicely and there was such joy and fellowship to be had.

After Sunday School, church service began and we were able to see the Performing Arts Ministry minister through dance. Those babies did such a great job.

The choir sang beautifully, but I have to admit…that last song was cardio exemplified.
It was truly such a beautiful and amazing Sunday and weekend. I was so glad to be a part of it!

Happy Monday!
