2020 family Wednesday? What's Up

What’s Up Wednesday?

Hi! Oh my goodness, I am SO excited. I mean it. I’ve wanted to link up with @Shaeaffer Told Me To and Mix and Match Mama for ever on What’s Up Wednesday…and something always seemed to come up. But here I am today and ready to rock! Prayers to the Mix and Match Mama family. I know all too well about best laid plans. God has you and your family, but we’ll be praying your strength and health still. So, let’s get started!

What We’re Eating this Week: Monday blessed us with dinner salad courtesy of my husband S. I promise the man does things with salads that are just ridiculous and so yummy! It had sliced turkey, ham, strawberries, cheese, lettuce, boiled eggs, and even a few grapes for those adventurous enough to try. It was SO good and we’ve pretty much crushed it. Last night was spaghetti, but tonight is Beef Enchiladas. This recipe was shared with me by a friend when the family travelled to Florida for New Year’s two years ago. It’s so yummy and so filling! Here’s a recipe that closely mirrors exactly what we do.

What I’m Reminiscing About: High School. Recently the family attended Bug’s High School Orientation. It got here so fast. It seems like yesterday he was just 10. Walking around the campus and experience all that he has the opportunity to be exposed to has made me think back to my high school days. I was certainly an awkward thing. Bug is so much more extroverted than I though. I think he will be just fine!

Awkward phase.

Reallllllly awkward phase lol!

What I’m Loving: 100th Day of School! This was awesome. Yesterday was Honeybee’s 100th day of school and her teacher asked that the students dress as if they were 100 years old. I was slightly disappointed that more didn’t participate, but my girl did and rocked the heck out of this wig!

Love my Honeybee!

What We’ve Been Up To: Goal Digging!  I promised God that I was ready and willing to walk out of my comfort zones.  I felt that He’s been nudging me to do so for years and I’d been clinging to comfort instead of trusting Him in the unknown.  The absolute moment I said “I will trust You”, things started happening.  Professional and personal goals have been coming together like crazy BUT the big things are stepping out on faith.  Next month, I start a Masters degree program in a concentration that has been my passion for years.  I feel like this is where God wants me to be and I can’t wait to begin.  Don’t worry!  I’ll share where once He says it is okay to do so.  Still, what a blessing it is to trust God!

Let’s Get It!

What I’m Dreading:  Nothing.  I have a meeting next week that I’m not too excited about, but I’m not really dreading anything.

What I’m Working On: Sooooo much! I was recently blessed with the opportunity to pitch a social media management campaign to a potential client. She looked the pitch and asked for a contract to be drawn up. That’s awesome! Add that to the social networking I’m doing for a few others and the branding and modifications I’m doing with So Frequently Frazzled (coming soon) and I’m a busy Mama!

What I’m Excited About: Musicals! At my insistence (yep, I pulled the Mommy card), Bug tried out for the school’s musical and got one of the lead parts! I’m so proud of him and I’m so excited to see him perform in a few months! He’s getting pretty excited himself even asking us to help run lines with him. I’m so proud of him. Plus, my birth father and big brother are supposed to come down as a surprise so YAY!!!!
The drama teacher sent an email with some of the costumes the kids are to be wearing.  I’m so excited at some of these looks!

What I’m Watching/Reading: So, I’m not really doing too much watching. Though I’m anxiously counting down the days to the return of Black Summer and The Kingdom.  Black Summer ended with the mom reconnecting with her daughter at the stadium.  I’m still trying to figure out how with the way downtown was swarming (why would anyone think a highly populated area is safe in zombie times...hello Atlanta and Rick Grimes?)

Hurry up and return!

As for reading. I finally finished the Slow Burn series by Bobby Adair. I started it years ago and kept getting distracted while waiting for a new book to drop. Finally, all were done and I read the entire nine box set. It was awesome! I was pleased with how it ended, but kind of wanted an epilogue somewhere. Now, I’ve downloaded Bobby’s Ebola K: A Terrorism Thriller. I haven’t had a chance to get beyond page one, so pray for your girl…especially with this outbreak of Corona virus going on.

What I have been reading are Bible plans on my Bible app. I’m currently on Day 29 of 365 for Bible in One Year. And the last day of Confident Moms, Confident Daughters by Maria Furlough. Unfortunately, I’m not enjoying that one as much as my previous plans—Goodbye Grumpy Mom and Proverbial Girl: Wisdom, Values, and Being Fabulous. (By the way, I enjoyed the latter so much that I’m actually ordering her book from Amazon). I’ll review it later and share my thoughts.

What I’m Listening To: We Are Not Ashamed by Andrae Crouch. That song is powerful and has been on repeat in the house lately.  I also reached out to social media for some podcast recommendations and I’ve been given quite a few.  I’ll try a few and let you know what I think next month, God willing.

What I’m Wearing: I’m back to business casual! Today it’s black business slacks white a white peplum top and a gray cardigan. It’s a favorite outfit and I love it.

What I’m Doing This Weekend:

AS IF YOU DON’T KNOW
SUPERBOWL!!!  I can’t tell you how happy I am to watch a Superbowl that does NOT include the Patriots.  I’m just not a fan.  That being said I KNOW Belichick is HOT!  He knew Mahomes was something special and was forced to let him go to appease the owners’ box.  And now, Mahomes might just bring it home.  (He did for me!  #Fantasyfootball champs).
What I’m Looking Forward To Next Month:  Birthdays.  My father-in-love, my husband, my brother-in-love, and Honeybee all have birthdays next month.  I’m looking forward to showering them in love.  I’m also looking forward to Valentine’s Day!  Not for me…I like to go all out for the kids.  I didn’t do so well last year because morning sickness SUCKED!  This year I’m back and I’m ready! <3
What Else Is New: Stand by for new changes coming to So Frequently Frazzled!  I can’t wait to share!
See you soon!
