Hello everyone! How’s your week been? I hit 23 weeks on last Saturday and have been enjoying the subtle changes ever since. I’ve been out and about (as far as social distancing will allow) at work and picking up meds for the kids, but other than that, quiet city.
So what’s new with baby! According to Babycenter, my baby is the size of an ear of corn. I might just have to incorporate that into the menu this week.
How far along: We are 23 weeks. I’m actually starting to look forward to the getting closer time.
Total weight gain: Last week it was 14 pounds, but I think I’ve gained quite a bit more this week because my appetite is HUGE.
Maternity clothes: I’m still in the same core pieces, but I am ready to expand for a while. I am tired of looking dowdy.
Stretch marks: They’re still there lol.
Sleep: I took my sleep test this week and am returning to sender this week. I’m interested in seeing how this is going to go.

More than a little interesting |
Best moment(s) of this week: I suppose the best moments of the week were the celebrations of birthdays. We didn’t actually go out to celebrate anyone, but it was very nice to be able to call, text, and email to celebrate each other. It was a busy birthday week too.
First, we honored the memory of my mother in love whose birthday was Monday. Then Tuesday and Wednesday were my cousin’s birthdays, one in NJ and the other in MD. Thursday was the birthday of yet another cousin and yesterday was the birthday of a very near and dear friend. She is currently expecting her first child and I am so happy for her and her husband!!

Happy birthday, everyone!!! |
Not so great moment(s) of this week: As wonderful as it was to celebrate birthdays, it wasn’t all great. Monday, I received notice of a high school classmate having passed away. She was the same age as me with a child about the same age as my son. She was a sweet spirit and a loving person. It hit me hard and had me facing mortality questions.
As I was adjusting to the news of her passing and news of her visitation scheduled for this weekend, I received another notice. My former band director, former music teacher, a great man who influenced many, a man who became principal, a Pastor, and so much more passed away. God called him home aided by a battle with COVID-19.
That hurt and hurt badly. As I type this, his social media pages are filled with sentiments and fond memories. The local television stations have interviewed people about him. It’s something. I’ll definitely be talking about it in my Weekend Recap.
Gender: Team green!
Any new symptoms: Nothing new. Just a bit moodier than usual.
What I’m loving in this pregnancy: I love feeling the baby move. As we’ve progressed, the movements have gotten stronger. Some are even viewable from the outside. My stomach was jumping today because baby had the hiccups.
What I’m missing in this pregnancy: People. I really miss being able to visit people or go to the restaurant for girls’ time and catch up time.
Cravings and Aversions: I have wanted everything this week. I went hard on the slushies and Icees this week. I think I had one maybe three times this week since I had to be at the office. I NEEDED IT!

Yes, it is a 44 ouncer, the largest they have. |
I don’t really have any aversions that I can think of. I did have the weird experience of not wanting anything to eat for the space of about three days.
What I’m looking forward to: My birthday! If God is willing, I will be 40 years old this week! I really hope God is so generous.
Activity level: Not too much this week, I’m afraid.
Anything else: Not that I can think of at the moment.
That’s my update! Have a fantastic week!
