Hi everyone!
I hope you’ve had a wonderful weekend. This weekend our family just spent time together. We stayed up late to watch movies. We ate food. We had a wonderful time! It was just a weekend of loving our family and I loved it!

Smiling for beautiful days. |
Saturday was 4th of July. We didn’t do anything. We stayed inside as a a family and I made hamburgers and hotdogs (in the oven because Sis was NOT going on the grill 5 months pregnant in 94 degree heat). I also made baked beans, corn on the cob, and a chocolate bundt cake.

My famous baked beans. We were out of green peppers, but we made due. |
So, I should caveat that the family LOVES baked beans. I have several different recipes for my baked beans. One I use during the week for weekly dinners. Another for potlucks. This one is one of my favorites. I add ground beef, brown sugar, mustard, a dash of cinnamon, sauteed onions, and green peppers. I promise the family crushes it every single time.
Anywho, S. and Bug went to the store and came back with macaroni salad and potato salad. We added it to our home cooked meal, watched Thor and Avengers on the television, and then we heard the familiar pop of fireworks in the background. I love our neighborhood! We’re able to watch amazing sights like this…
It’s such a blessing to be able to sit on the back deck with the family and spend time just being.
Sunday morning was another beautiful day. We started our morning watching the live stream for our church. Pastor gave a beautiful sermon on the Declaration of Dependence. Declaring to one and all that we truly depend on God for ALL things. It was such a beautiful service and I couldn’t help but be stirred.
We then had our Bible Study for the day and studied Deuteronomy 4-6. We had a wonderful discussion about it as a family, and then S. and I had a morning appointment. We stopped afterwards to grab Icees and quesadillas. We bought them home and then the older family memories all went to the family room to watch Unplanned on Amazon Prime.
Let me tell you something. If you have not seen this movie, I definitely recommend it. I am pro-life. I respect everyone’s right to choose whatever they feel is right for their situation, but I absolutely pray for life, for all life. This movie sparked some serious conversation with my husband and teenager. If you need a movie that tugs at some heartstrings, this one is the go to for you.
After the movie ended, I took the residual time to work on classwork for my new courses. I am definitely enjoying the class and the lessons I have learned thus far. God willing, next year this time I’ll be soon to receive my new degree. I look forward to it.
So, that’s our weekend. How was yours? What did you do?
