Hello everyone.  I hope it’s been a pleasant week for you.  It’s been more than a bit busy for me with classes, school for the kids, telework, etc.  But I won’t complain.  It makes the week go quicker. Speaking of which, we reached 32 weeks this past Saturday.  That came much quicker than I thought!  This week was also appointment week.  I had one on Wednesday and another on Thursday.  Got to love pregnancy appointments.

Total weight gain:  I had an appointment with Maternal Health on Wednesday and at that appointment weighed 169 pounds.  The following day, Thursday, I weighed 170.9.  The baby looked to have gotten much larger this week and I was pretty uncomfortable.  I spoke to the doctor and it turns out that baby is measuring two weeks ahead AND I have additional amniotic fluid.  So, I am “on the higher end or normal”.  This actually explains why I’ve been so short of breath and achy in my back.
In love with this pic
Maternity clothes: This week I had to wear the sensible attire because I needed the doctors to be able to access my belly for ultrasounds.  So, I stuck with maternity T-shirts and pants to keep me things easy.  The weather started cooperating and turning into Fall.  So, this became my favorite maternity look of the week.  Incidentally, only the jeans are maternity.  The sweater is a favorite Fall pick me up from last year.

We look HUGE!
Sleep: Still using the Hypnobirthing and it has been a great help.  That being said I have found that I get very hot at night and need to have the fan blowing directly on me.  This causes my nose to get a bit stuffy but it is so worth it.  I  also find myself needing to remove clothes because oh my goodness…hot flashes in pregnancy are real.
Best moment(s) of this week: Absolutely one of the best moments was our celebrating Bug’s birthday!  I can’t believe he is 14!  It was so nice just to be able to spend some time celebrating him.  Think about it…in four years, he’ll be graduating.  OH MY GOODNESS!!!

Bug is currently in love with all things culinary at the moment, so he received an Air Fryer and a cookbook as part of his birthday gifts.  He loved it and has been cooking nonstop since receiving it.  He really is a good cook.  Some of his dishes are better than mine and I actually have requests for some of the things he makes!
Moment 2:  The shower repair.  The other best moment was spending time repairing a faulty shower cartridge with my son.  I should let you know I’d never replaced one before, but wasn’t willing to pay a high deductible for a plumber to do something I could probably do myself.  I checked YouTube and found exactly what I was looking for.  I gathered it would be a pretty simple repair but I’d need to make a stop at Home Depot.  I did that on Monday night and started the repair with Bug.  We were able to get the first part done but realized that I needed a removal tool that I did not have.  Tuesday, I went back to Home Depot to get that part and Bug and I went in the bathroom and worked out some kinks until we were able to fix the issue.

I have to say he was such an awesome helper.  He did most of the work voluntarily because my belly is kind of large for getting in and out of spaces.  When it was all done, I was so proud of him.  He is such an awesome kid.
Not so great moment(s) of this week: One of my husband’s family members transitioned this week.  I met him a couple of times and liked him.  He is the husband of one of the aunts.  His homegoing is this weekend.  I wish I could be down for support.

Gender: We’re still team green.

What are you thinking?  Boy or Girl?

Any new symptoms: The contractions are still occurring off and on with a mix of Braxton Hicks.  I am also having some pretty sharp pains as the baby is running out of room and pushing on whatever spot seems comfortable for it.  Most of the contractions don’t really hurt beyond a dull menstrual like cramp, but there are others that make me stop on occasion.
With the addition of the mild polyhydramnios, I’ve definitely been a bit more uncomfortable.  I actually had to use the massage chair for relief this week.

Any prep for baby:  Not physical ones, but in place ones.  Open enrollment is underway at my job.  I’m making sure the decisions made will make sure the little is covered.  I wanted to pre-register this week as my doctor has asked if I’d knocked that out, but with the possible change in benefits I’ve decided to wait until 1 October.  That should give me plenty of time and I’ll be able to share factual information from benefits update.

I’ve looked at my birth preferences and am preparing to get that list together.  I definitely want to start serious prep during the month of October.
Cravings and Aversions: Ice.  Seriously.  I want ice.
What I’m looking forward to: A nice weekend.

Activity level:  It’s finally cool enough to do more outdoor walks and activities.  I’m looking forward to it.  Hopefully, this shortness of breath will calm a bit.

Anything else: Not that I can think of.

I hope you have a great week!
