2020 family time Pregnancy #4 What's Up Wednesday

What’s Up, Wednesday?

Hello everyone!  I cannot believe that we are in the last Wednesday of September!  That came much quicker than I was expecting.  I’m getting more and more excited as we creep closer to my due date.  Once I see October 1, it makes things a little more real for me.  I have to admit I’m actually looking forward to the culmination of this pregnancy.  I suppose we can blame it on my being older, but pregnancy at 40 is so very different than pregnancy at 26–at least for me.

But enough of that.  I am linking with Shaeffer Told Me To and Mix and Match Mama to share a bit about my month.

Sunday Dinner

1. What We Are Eating this Week:

This week has definitely been a fun one for food.  Sunday, I made a homemade Sunday dinner complete with mac and cheese, collard greens, rib, and apple pies.  We ended up enjoying that on Monday as well.  Tuesday, I made meatball subs while the family played outside.  Tonight, we’re doing dinner nachos using this recipe I found from Delish.com. I’m hoping there will be enough for leftovers because tomorrow will be Football night, so it’s simple turkey and ham subs with chips and pies for accompaniment. Friday, we’re making homemade pizzas.  I can’t wait.

2. What I’m Reminiscing About:

I am remembering pre-COVID Fall.  I remember last year where the kids went to the pumpkin patch, when we took walks, when we did Fall activities.  I loved it.  This year, with COVID, we’ve been severely limited.  Most of our pumpkin patch locations are either closed or doing COVID-related activities which take away from the experience.  I really miss being able to take the kids out to embrace the changing season.  Hopefully, we’ll have some opportunities for that this year.

3. What I’m Loving:

I am loving the maternity looks.  It’s been fun dressing up, especially in the Fall.  I have actually taken a little extra time when I go out and I enjoy feeling pretty when I do.

4. What We’ve Been Up To:

Prepwork again!  Only this time we are prepping for baby.  I’m preparing to pack my Labor and Delivery Bag (and will be sharing the post with you soon).  I’m about to start the washing of the baby clothes and making sure everything is in place for our newest arrival.  It won’t be long now.

5. What I’m Dreading:

I am so not ready for when the doctors’ start their internal exams.  Those always hurt and I really hope we can keep those minimal.

6. What I’m Working On:

My Masters degree.  It’s been a great semester and I have enjoyed what I’ve been learning. If all goes well, I’ll have my degree in Spring of 2021.  It’s hard work, but I think it’s worthy work.  If all goes as I pray, I’ll be able to assist not for profits and churches with their digital footprint and social media reach.  There is a lot of good that can be done and I’m looking forward to assisting in it.

7. What I’m Excited About:

I have less than six more weeks to go!  I’m excited about meeting this little.

8. What I’m Watching/Reading:

Every pregnancy finds me infatuated with birth stories.  The closer I get to delivery, the more I wish to see birth vlogs and stories.  So, I’ve been viewing a bunch on YouTube and reading quite a few blogs for birth stories there.

The family is still doing the Year through The Bible Chronologically Bible Plan and I have to admit I am enjoying it and the family time.

I also started a new Sci-Fi e-book series called The Scourge, which reads very much like COVID-19 (well at least initially).  So far, so good.

Finally, I’m still reading the Calm Birth Method and hope it will be useful in a few weeks.

9. What I’m Listening To:

The Hypnobirthing meditations and guidance have been on deck more frequently with the feel of contractions and joint pain.  It’s been pretty helpful.

So you’ve seen all of mine. What have you guys been up to?
