Hello everyone! Happy February! This is a month full of activity. We’re celebrating Black History Month, birthdays, Valentine’s Day, and so much more. We’re also hoping for a respite from COVID-19. I’m really hoping things get better soon.

Greensboro Four
If you have followed the blog for any time, then you know that February 1st holds a dear place in my heart. I am a proud alumnae of North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, NC. This HBCU is the origin of the A&T Four, also known as the Greensboro Four.
On February 1, 1960, four black freshmen went to a segregated Woolworth lunch counter and asked to be fed. They were refused and faced a lot of trouble for their attempt at equality. They continued and sparked the Sit-in Movement that aided in the repeal of Jim Crow laws all across the South. Because those four men sat down, my children and I are able to go into every establishment and have a seat without fear of reprisal.

In addition to celebrating February One, we are celebrating Black History month. I make it a point to talk to the kids about history beyond what they are taught at school. Still, this month presents a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the accomplishment of many.
Birthdays

February is full of birthdays. My father in love, brother in love, husband, and daughter all celebrate their birthdays this month. We’ll be kind of limited in what we can do since the pandemic is still very much a thing, but I still hope to keep smiles on their faces.
This year, our Honeybee turns seven years old. I am so excited to share the special surprises that I have on her day.

Valentine’s Day
We are two weeks away from Valentine’s Day. I don’t really celebrate the holiday, but I do try my best to make it special for the family. I’m big on Valentine’s breakfasts and fun treat boxes. I also like to prepare a special dinner for the family. I’ve been pinning some pretty adorable pins from the Pinterest world and have shared them below Feel free to visit! I’ll do a full breakdown later!
Goals

You guys know I’m big on setting goals. I just need to do better about organizing them. This month, I am focusing on being the best me. I realize that I’m not getting any younger (Come on, ya’ll). I want to make sure I’m doing everything I can to be here for as long as I can. Shoot, I want to see babies and grandbabies one day, ya’ll. So, I’m setting personal and attainable goals that will help me be the woman I desire to be.
- Work out for 30 minutes 3xs a week
- Drink 64 oz of water every day
- Spend 30 minutes doing an outdoor activity
I’ll let you guys know how that goes. Until then, you guys have a fantastic Monday and I will talk to you again SOON!
