Hi everyone. We’ve made it to the end of another beautiful month and I am SO grateful. This month has been pretty good in confirming that things are returning to “normal” for the most part. I’m glad to be able to share some of that with you. Since it is the last Wednesday of the month, what better way to accomplish the share than with What’s Up, Wednesday with Sheaffer & Shay. If you’re new to the site, the premise is pretty easy. I link up with these lovely ladies (who have some pretty cool sites by the way) and share a few of the fun things of my month. I’d been pretty slack about it for quite some time because we were pretty limited in what we were able to do thanks to lockdown. But looks like we’re finally able to share a few things now.
What We’re Eating This Week
Oh, this week is all things quick and easy! This week the temperatures are all 90s every day with TONS of humidity. While I know a lot of you love the grilling oppoprtunities on days like this….I’m not a fan lol. Truthfully, I just haven’t tried truly tackling the grilling gene, but I LOVE a yummy summer salad. (Let’s be honest here, folks. Dinner salads are my jam.)

Truth be told, my husband is the best salad maker in the family. He just has this unique gift of adding things in the right combinations that taste amazing! We’ve been doing salads with apples, salads with grapes, traditional croutons and parmesan, chef salads, house and garden salads. You name it, it has been done and tastes amazing.
I’m not the amazing salad connosoir that my husband is, but I have a few that I’ve tagged below from some pretty great pinners if you are interested.
What I’m Reminiscing About
I’ve been reminiscing a lot about last year this time when I was carrying Shirley-Ann. I have really been thinking about trying for baby number 6. Yes. I’m serious. Sometimes, I think I’m all in for another baby. Sometimes, I think there is no way at all that I will even consider it. S. is all on board for more, but I think I’m going to see where the Lord directs me. Right now, I am a happy wife and mom of five. But don’t be shocked if one day you hear something else entirely.

What I’m Loving
I am absolutely in love with this beautiful summer weather. The kids have been outside soaking up some of that good old Vitamin D just about daily. I’m also loving that the kids are out of school for a while number because I am loving mommy/children time. We’ve been heading over to Sonic to take advantage of 1/2 off Happy Hour on drinks and slushies. Each child has their favorite and we usually sit out and enjoy our treats while discussing what we’re planning to do for the summer.

I am also so in love with this candle from Coffee and Motivation! I saw this as a sponsored ad on Instagram and am on the verge of ordering because I know quite a few ladies who deserve a glowing reminder of how awesome they are!

What We’ve Been Up To
Oh my goodness! June was a really cool month filled with lots of family time and memories. I’ll share a few of my favorites with you in the gallery below.
Random cool shots in the rear view A reminder that God is amazing The kids after their morning run We went to birthday parties Great friends celebrated my graduation Baby girl turned 7 months The kids finally had their last day of school Now I have a 10th and 2nd grader President Biden made Juneteenth an official holiday We all celebrated Father’s Day
What I’m Dreading…
Oh my goodness. We are doing some purging and it SUCKS. Bags, boxes, purging. UGHHHHHH. Seriously, when will technology advance to the level that you snap your fingers and transitions are done lol.
What I’m Working On
Some of you know that I assist small businesses and non profits with their social media management. I really enjoy social media and the tools that are out there. Recently, I have received several new clients interests, so I am updating my media kit and Internet presence to match that. I’m also working on some fun surprises in the next few weeks. I can’t wait to share it with you, but all in good time!

What I’m Excited About
In addition to the new things that I’m working on, I’m really excited about this upcoming weekend. Friday nights are family nights. We typically eat a quick meal (pizzas, subs, something like that) and watch a movie or family television show. This weekend there are two family options. The first is family friendly for everyone and the character list is a favorite of the youngest littles–The Boss Baby 2. It comes out on July 2nd on Peacock and in some theaters. It just so happens that we have Peacock and have been using it to introduce the kids to some of our (Mommy and Daddy’s) favorite shows. The family really enjoyed the first one, and the subsequent Netflix series, so I have high hopes for this one.
There’s another movie that debuts this weekend as well–The Tomorrow War. I’m a HUGE fan of Chris Pratt and have enjoyed most of the movies he has been in. When the trailer for The Tomorrow War came out, I was sitting with my teenage son and we both locked eyes. This looks to be out type of movie–aliens, science fiction, and action. We’re all on board. We certainly hope this one is amazing as well.
What I’m Watching/Reading
Oh my goodness, guys! I’ve been having a ball reading for pleasure, but also reading for ministerial purposes–namely marriage. I recently asked my Instagram followers what books they recommended in their marriage and the suggestions were awesome! In the queue are Relationship Goals: How to Win at Dating, Marriage, and Sex by Michael Todd, The Path to Becoming a Proverbs 31 Wife: Walking in Your God-given Role by Jennifer Rash. I was also told to read My So-Called Life as a Proverbs 31 Wife: A One-Year Experiment…and Its Surprising Results by Sara Horn.
I am also reading my Science Fiction series Crawlerz. I am currently up to Book 4 in the series and have enjoyed reading it thus far. It’s a bit unique in the zombie genre since these guys come in two distinct flavors, but so far so good.

When it comes to what I’m watching, I’ve been pretty lax on TV lately. However, I will freely admit to getting super excited when Netflix dropped Season 2 of Black Summer. I watched it and while it didn’t quite have me on the edge of my seat like Season 1, it was still an enjoyable view if this is your genre.
What I’m Listening To
Right now, I’m listening to the gentle snores of my baby girl. I love quiet evenings with my littles.

What I’m Wearing
I’m back in the office these days–about 75% of the time. So, my days are pretty much filled with business attire during the days and chill clothes in the PM.

What I’m Doing This Weekend
This weekend I am hoping to spend some time with family visiting from out of town. With things opening up and people being properly vaccinated, it’s a great time to hang out with loved ones and see fireworks. I am also looking forward to making some new memories for the kids, especially the youngest who will be experiencing family fun in the summer and for 4th of July for the first time.

What I’m Looking Forward To Next Month
Celebrations! July is filled with anniversaries, birthdays, and due dates. I am looking forward to all of them. I have a host of birthday presents and welcome baby gifts to buy. I am also, God willing, celebrating my 41st birthday. I am really excited about that. Finally, the kids will have a full month of summer before returning to school. I’m looking forward to prepping for some new school adventures soon.

What Else is New
My mommy will be here very soon and I can’t wait to share her with you guys! You all know how much I love my mom, so anytime I can share her with my readers is a boon. What about you? How was your June and what are you looking forward to?
-Kinta

This is my first time reading your blog (I think) and I will be back. I love your writing style. Also, I love the mix of science fiction and faith 🙂 Enjoy July and your visit with your mom! I get so excited every time I get to see my parents!!!
Thanks so much! I appreciate that very much!
