After what seems like a whirlwind month of February filled with love, birthdays, and professional growing pains, the beauty that is March is more than welcome (minus that hour of sleep we’re about to miss out on. Still not a fan). This month is also an opportunity for all of us to evaluate what worked last month and what didn’t, to see what we can carry into the month with us, and what needs to remain there. I’m determined this month will be a month of education–self, professional, personal, and interpersonal. Shoot, #momlife may never be the same.
It’s Our Time
March is International Women’s Month. I like to think of it as Women Empowerment Month. I’m not tooting our horn, but dang it we do a lot. We are the Program Managers of our own empire, surveying the landscape of opportunity and seizing it. I’m here for it. Now, this is not to take anything away from the men. They are strong providers, partners, heads of households, servant leaders, all of that, but I heard a preacher once speak to say that women are the thermostats of the households. While most men reflect the temperature of their environment, most women initiate the action to change the the environment and keep it at a consistent and comfortable level regardless of the chaos raging outside of their environment. That’s particularly true of a woman of faith. Our tears are counted and our knees bruised by the countless prayers upon hard surfaces, but our thermostats remain consistent. Still, it’s not true of every woman, so I have to ask, “In this month of March, are you the thermometer or the thermostat?”

Being Intentional
If the pandemic taught (or is teaching) us nothing else, we can all agree that life isn’t promised is at the forefront. It’s time to buckle down and focus on our who, what, when, where, and why. The self-evaluation is pretty straight forward.
- Who do you want to be and who is your audience
- What do you want to accomplish this month and using what medium
- When are you expecting to accomplish this goal? Is it a short-term goal or a long-term idea?
- Where are you launching? Where is your goal taking you?
- Why are you doing this? Money? Passion? Boredom.
This month, identify and adjust your plan, then execute. You absolutely can do this. I’m so sure that you can that I’m going to help with this freebie. It’s a downloadable .pdf that helps you capture your goals and strategies for achieving those goals. It also includes a space for Monthly Focus priorities. It doesn’t matter if you’re using this to run your household as an awesome SAHM or as tool in your arsenal as an awesome Working Mom. This freebie lends itself to a myriad of uses.
The March Mood
Want a moment of transparency? I am pretty scatterbrained. I mean it. I can easily lose focus or become distracted. As such, I’ve learned some pretty awesome app hacks to help me stay on task and keep my customers (professional, personal, and freelance) happy. But one of the interesting things I have recently discovered is my monthly mood/vision board. Instead of doing one traditional and then popping back to it later in the year, I like to create monthly boards that are specific to my goals and desires for the month. At the end of the year, it helps me see which month and goal schema worked and which did not. It’s been so great thus far and I’m pretty pleased to share this month’s board with you. What I really enjoy about doing my boards this way is there is no right or wrong way. Last month, my mood was these lovely below…and I felt it in my very core.

This month, my mood is no less powerful, just in a different way, and I know it means great things are coming for us all.

All in all…
Ladies, we have this. One way or another. Either here or over there. We have it. I plan on letting Jesus plot my course and I’m going to go forth and do great things. I hope you plan to do the same. Happy March, guys!
