Hello May!

Hi everyone!  It’s May!  It’s definitely a different one than in years passed with all of the craziness of COVID going around.  We are still sheltering in place at home with occasional escapes for required meetings and doctor appointments.  It’s certainly been interesting. Bucket Lists. Traditionally, May has always been the unofficial start to Summer.  It’s …

Hello everyone!  It’s been a REALLY busy week.  Truly it has, so much so I had no idea this weekend is Mother’s Day!  I’m so serious.  I had no idea until I saw an email from our church asking if the women would consider wearing …

  • I so love our church family! Our Honeybee received birthday treats from church friends who have become family. 𝟰 𝗪𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝟭. 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗬𝗮𝗿𝗱. I’ve seen these beautiful setups throughout the streets of my city for a while now and I always think how adorable they are. With the pandemic, I wanted my loved ones to experience all the hype of their birthday without the danger of the crowds. SO...I contacted our local @cardmyyard franchise. They were so easy to work with and so very friendly. They not only did a fantastic job under cover of night, but they did it twice. Yesterday was my husband’s birthday! For some reason I couldn’t post on IG yesterday so I’ll make sure to follow up with his shout out later as I still want him to have his shine too. If you are in the 540, 571, or 703 area code and want the local family we used, just send me a DM! I highly recommend! 𝟮. 𝗭𝗼𝗼𝗺 𝗭𝗼𝗼𝗺. Have a family and friends birthday party via Zoom. I hosted one for my husband yesterday and it was great especially for friends he hasn’t seen since the pandemic and some since high school!!! He was as so happy to see them. I’m having a mini one with my mom so she can see her oldest granddaughter online. She hasn’t seen her in person in a year so you know she’s ready! Free account gives you 30 minutes and that’s really all you need for singing happy birthday and opening gifts with cake. 𝟯. 𝗖𝘂𝗿𝗯𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴! One thing about this pandemic is the convenience of no contact is everywhere. Take advantage. Arrange curbside pickup for the balloons🎈, cake 🎂, flowers 💐, and 🎁. It’s safe and contactless! Shoot, you can ever do a birthday meal! 𝟰. 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗱! My dad and siblings really wanted to be able to say happy birthday on zoom to my husband yesterday but schedules are hard sometimes. No worries! My brother recorded a really nice birthday greeting for S. and we were able to play it for him...safely with no contact. Love it!
  • 𝗢𝗵 𝗺𝘆 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀!!! 𝗜 𝗰𝗮𝗻’𝘁 𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗜 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗲𝘆𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗽𝗵𝗿𝗮𝘀𝗲 🤦🏾‍♀️

You all do know that confirming the absence of schedule conflicts isn’t control, right? And asking if a spouse minds isn’t asking permission?

Any other love bugs and spouses have thoughts? What about my single loves? Would you consider a check in to see if your significant other minds an after work happy hour stop asking permission? 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗲. 𝗕𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗹𝗼𝗴 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁.

It’s been a day. Deadlines. Projects. Saving the day. And it’s still going. I could have done better. I could have prepped some of this. But I didn’t and it’s kicking my butt on this end.

Lessons learned and applied. If you are having a chaotic, stress-filled, frustrating day...breathe. It’s okay. You have this. Here’s what has been helping me.

𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝘁 𝗮 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲. One task, one second, one minute, one hour, one day. Check off that task list one item at a time. Today, don’t focus on the big picture. It will overwhelm you.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝘂𝗮𝗹. I have this thing about lists. I really love lists and I like to check or cross off things as they are done. It’s satisfying to me to see a list that has been completely crossed through. I actually feel accomplished.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗲. Oh, I wish I could do it all. But, 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆, I can drop the ball. It’s okay to delegate some tasks. It’s okay to ask for help. I have two arms. I cannot feed the baby, answer an email, and cook dinner at the same time...well, I can but it isn’t pretty or peaceful. I have no problem tagging my partner in, and neither should you. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
𝗙𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿? I hope so. You are an awesome superhero and you have this. Seriously! Now...let’s see if I can get this marriage post released today. #motivation #mondaymotivation #youhavethis #yougotthis #justkeepswimming #iencourage #collaborationovercompetition #yourcheerleader #wegonmakeit
